Orthopedic surgery

31.png

Orthopedic surgery is a branch of surgery that refers to disorders of the musculoskeletal system, its muscular, bone or joint parts and its acute, chronic, traumatic and recurrent injuries.

Surgical treatments involve action on situations that are more serious or require surgery as the only means to resolve the problem, such as bone fractures, rupture of cruciate ligaments or hip dysplasia. For this purpose, the following are used: open reduction, Kirschner and Steinmann wires, osteosynthesis plates and screws, nail-plate and screw-plate devices, intramedullary nails (Küntscher, Gross-Kempf, Ender, Russ), external fixators (Hoffman, Ilizarov , monolateral), bone graft, bone cements and prostheses for joint replacements.

At the Montjuïc Veterinary Hospital we perform all orthopedic surgical techniques, in fully equipped operating rooms and by highly qualified and experienced orthopedic surgeons.

All our interventions are carried out with maximum safety measures, after carrying out preoperative tests, in order to minimize anesthetic risks.
