Anesthesia

Anesthesia is a key component of veterinary medicine, present in both diagnostic procedures (CT scans, for example) and treatments (surgeries, for example), the importance of which lies in adapting it to each patient.
When administering anesthesia, the specialist must understand the patient's current condition (mainly existing pathologies and medications), their specific conditions (breed and weight, most importantly), and the type of procedure to be performed. This will help estimate its duration and make the correct choice of anesthetic medication, the route of administration (additional anesthesia block to general anesthesia), and the corresponding dose.
During and after the procedure, the specialist must also evaluate the patient's condition and response to the administered anesthesia to assess its continuation or reversal, while carefully considering the patient's vital signs.
Our center has highly experienced anesthesia specialists who are kept up-to-date with the latest clinical recommendations for anesthetic management.
